Thelma T. Martin

Age 92, of Canton, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, in

Hanover House.  She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Hershel and Ethel (Hoon) Smith, and was a life resident.  Thelma was a member of Greenwood Christian Church.  She helped organize reunions for the 7th Armored Division which her husband served with during World War II.  Preceded in death by her husband, John Martin, a daughter, Patricia Johnston, one sister, one brother, and a grandson.  Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Jerry Updyke; her son and daughter-in-law, John "Kenny" and Vickie Martin; a son-in-law, Kenneth Johnston; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Starks; and several nieces and nephews.  Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev.
