Susan (Scheffler) "Sue" Ake

Age 82, of Hartville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024.  She was born Feb. 24, 1941 in Zanesville, OH, a daughter of the late Theodore and Verna (Dittmar) Scheffler, and was a life resident of this area.  Sue was a 1959 graduate of Lehman High School.  She had worked in Patient Accounts at Aultman Hospital for 25 years.  Sue had enjoyed being in a bridge club some years ago.

Sue is survived by her long-time companion and fiancé, Larry Horton; two daughters, Kim (Shawn) Evans, and Whitney (Brian) Layman; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Whitney Evans, and his daughter, Brooklyn, Shaun Evans, and her fiancé, Josh Broadbendt, Zach Evans, Spencer Evans, Bryce Layman, Gavin Layman, and Camille Layman; one brother, Ted (Sara) Scheffler.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Jan. 12, 2024 at 1 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Smith, Celebrant, officiating.  Inurnment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
