Stephen L. Artzner

Age 72, of Canton, passed away Monday evening in Aultman Compassionate Care Center.  He was born in Magnolia, a son of the late Ralph and Betty (Skelton) Artzner, and had been a Canton resident since 1972.  Steve was a 1959 graduate of Sandy Valley High School, and he retired in December of 2011 as an Independent Mac Tool Distributor for 40 years.  He was a member of Christ the Servant Parish at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.  Steve was an avid NASCAR fan and loved boating, water and snow skiing.  He and Sue Zanne loved to travel all over the country and the Caribbean.  Steve served in the U. S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam War.  Survived by his wife, Sue Zanne (Halter) Artzner, with whom he would have celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary on April 19th; one daughter, Anita Artzner and her loving companion, Gary Gallagher, of Massillon; one son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Johnna Artzner, of Canal Fulton; the love of his life, grandson, Jack Artzner; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Claire and Charles Knott,of Magnolia, and Molly and Fred Denton, of Costa Rica; three brothers and a sister-in-law, David Artzner, of Canton, Denis Artzner, of Cape Coral, FL, and Kerry and Sherry Artzner, of Magnolia.  Family and friends may meet at Christ the Servant Parish for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be held Sat. at 1 p.m. with Msgr.
