STANLEY ULIK,

Age 89, of North Canton, passed away Fri. morning in St. Luke Lutheran Home.  Born in Wheeling, WV, and raised in Adena, OH, a son of the late John and Mary (Majowska) Ulik, he had been a Canton resident since 1946.  Stanley retired in 1981 from General Tire & Rubber Co. after 24 years service as a truck and giant tire builder and served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, working as an aircraft mechanic on B-17s and B-24s.  He was a member of Northwest Church of Christ, a proud and active member of the United Rubber Workers Local #9, and was a former Little League coach in the Holly Hills Baseball Association.   Stanley was an avid outdoorsman, and loved golf and Cleveland sports.  Preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Ulik, in 1974, and his wife, Lillian Ulik, on Nov. 15, 2008, and one brother, John Ulik.  Survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Doug Tanner, of North Canton; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Marty Ulik, of North Canton, William Ulik, of Canton, and Sean and Melissa Ulik, of Canton; two sisters, Mary Ulik and Jesse Wise, both of Canton; and six granddaughters, Amber and Brittany Roberts, Ashley Emerick and her husband, Jared, Taylor and Hannah Ulik, and Tori Bagshaw.  Services will be held Mon. at 1:30 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Keith Kull officiating.  Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call Sun. from 2-4 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Stanley's memory may be made to the St. Luke Foundation, 200 Applegrove St. NE, North Canton, OH  44720.  Condolences may be left at www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
