Obituary

Stanley W. Duerr Age 89, of Magnolia, passed away Thursday morning in Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar. He was born in Magnolia, a son of the late Samuel and Nanny Brown Duerr, and was a life resident. Stanley was a 1938 graduate of East Sparta High School. He retired from Sandy Valley Local Schools, after 23 years service, where he was a custodian at the high school. He previously had worked at Sandyville Elementary School and Welker Feed Mill in Sandyville. Stanley was a member of Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church and the former Sandy Valley Ruritan Club. Preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Howard and Lawrence Duerr, and Bernice Bordner. Survived by his wife, Evelyn W. Duerr, with whom he celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on April 24th; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cheryl Duerr, of Lexington, MA, and Cathy and Stanley Ziolkowski, of Naperville, IL; one son, Kim Duerr, of North Canton; two grandsons, Benjamin and Noah Kaplan, of Lexington; and one brother, Arthur Duerr, of Magnolia. Services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church with Pastor John Maroni and Support Pastor Roger Thompson officiating. Interment in Magnolia Cemetery.
