SHIRLEY WOOD,
Age 79, of Waynesburg, passed away Fri., May 27, 2016, following a brief illness. Born in New Cumberland, a daughter of late Clarence and Alice Davis, she had been a longtime resident of Waynesburg. Shirley was a 1954 graduate of East Sparta High School and retired from Gold Circle Department Store where she was an Office Manager. She was a member of the Fellowship of the Little Country Church and the Sandy Valley Women's Club and volunteered for Heritage Days in Waynesburg and Canal Days in Magnolia. Survived by her husband, Kenneth Wood, with whom she would have celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary on July 3rd, one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Paul Brown; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Lynda Wood; one sister, Jean Walker; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Marion and Nora Klotz and Bob Wood; two grandchildren, Scott (Kelly) Wood and Monica Motz; three great grandchildren, Dakota and Selena Wood and Jocelyn Motz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Wed. at 12 Noon in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Cameron Ury officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Friends may call two hours before the service, from 10a.m. to 12 Noon in the funeral home.
