Shirley A. Evans Age 78, of Louisville, passed away Friday evening, June 17, 2011, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Pete and Bertha Essig Peterson, and resided in Louisville since 1961. Shirley was a 1951 graduate of Timken Vocational High School, and had worked as a secretary at both The Timken Co. and The Hoover Co. She was an avid bowler. Survived by her husband, Gary C. Evans, with whom she would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on July 22nd; her daughter, Cindy Bowman, her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Amy Evans, and five grandchildren, Josh Bowman, Davis, Austen, Marlena, and Garrett Evans, all of Louisville; her mother-in-law, Martha Evans, of East Canton; one sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Bill Bergert, of Lisbon, OH; and her close friends, Fred and Marcia Dyer, of Louisville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Michael D. Jones officiating. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery.
