SHERYL L. ABRAHAMSON,

Age 66, of North Canton, passed away suddenly Fri., July 21, 2017 at her residence.  Born in Des Moines, IA, a daughter of the late Virginia Rueter, she had been a resident of the Canton area most of her life, also residing in Cary, NC for several years.  Sheryl was a 1969 graduate of Glenwood High School, retired from R.J. Reynolds as a Regional Training Manager and was a member of Faith Family Church.  She was a two-time cancer survivor and helped found Woman to Woman in 1986 for women with breast cancer.  Sheryl was an extremely caring, selfless and giving person who quickly became friends with everyone she met; she touched everyone with her infectious smile, kind heart and contagious laugh.  Preceded in death by her son, David Abrahamson, and her sister, Sandra Harris.  Survived by her loving husband of 22 years, James Abrahamson; four daughters, Donelle Abrahamson, Michelle Robell, Schanin Chapin, and Tracie Fitch; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Christopher and Erica Lente, and Michael Abrahamson; her grandchildren, Shan, Yasmin "Yaz," Gage, Baylee, Blake, Kolten, Sarah, Makenna, Davin, and Ally; numerous nieces and nephews, her goddaughter, Jennifer Mears, and many close family friends.  Sheryl enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially Sunday dinners and family vacations to the beach and casinos.  Services will be held Sat. at 10 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Pancher officiating.  Friends may call Fri. from 4-7 p.m. and Sat. one hour before the service, from 9-10 a.m. in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sheryl's memory may be made to: Faith Family Church United J.V., 8200 Freedom Ave. NW, North Canton, OH  44720.  Condolences may be left at: www.gordon funeralhomes.com.
