Scott K. Beatty, Sr.
Age 50, of Canton, passed away Tuesday from injuries sustained in an accident in Jackson Township. He was born in Verona, PA, a son of Mae Deer Beatty of Verona, PA, and the late Spurgeon Beatty, and had been a resident of the Canton area since 1998. Scott was a 1978 graduate of Penn Hills High School. He was a supervisor and heavy equipment operator for Bontrager Excavating Co. of Uniontown. Scott was a member of the NRA and he had a passion for his model and electric trains. His brother, Don, preceded him in death. Surviving besides his mother are his twin daughter and son, Michelle "Shelly" Beatty, of Springdale, PA, and Scott K. Beatty, Jr., of Akron; two step-daughters, Stephanie Donahue and her husband, Greg, of Massillon, and Jennifer Benitez, of Canton; one sister, Pam Beatty, of Monroeville, PA; and four grandchildren, Ashlyn Donahue, Alexis Rohrer, Sarina Rhinehart, and Gage Fink. Services will be conducted Sunday at 5 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home, 1803 Cleveland Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44709, with Pastor Clifford Hughes officiating. Friends may call Sunday 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Additional calling hours and services will be held in Pennsylvania and interment will be in Plum Creek Cemetery in Plum Borough, PA.
