Sara Jane Newport,

Age 85, of Louisville, passed away Fri., Mar. 10, 2023, surrounded by her family.  She was born July 5, 1937, in Cuyahoga Falls, a daughter of the late Ana and Erma (Dille) Massie.  Sara was a 1955 graduate of Navarre High School and retired from Sears where she was a Clerk in the Children's Clothing Department.  She had been a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, where she was a Deacon, and also Firestone Rd. Baptist church; currently she is a member of Central Baptist Church.  Preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Newport, two sisters, Carol Robinson and Shirley Aarp, one brother, Damon Massie, and her grandson, Jason Teague, on Jan. 29, 2023.  Survived by three daughters, Vickie (Vance) Grover, Cathy (Bruce) Miller, and Nancy (Shannon) Wold; two sons, James (Brenda) Newport and, Danny Newport; one sister, Joyce Lombardi; 17 grandchildren, Shannon, Autumn, Scotty, Stacy, Michael, James, Stephen, Joshua, Jeremiah, Heather, Samuel, Katrina, Sara, Laura, Brianna, Trisha, and Krista; ten great grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.  Services will be held Thur. at 6 PM at Central Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Newcomer officiating.  Private interment at Forest Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call Thur., from 4-6 PM at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sara Jane's memory may be made to: Central Baptist Church 4736 Tuscarawas St W, Canton, OH 44708, Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
