Sally L. Gardner
Age 78, of North Canton, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015, in Aultman Compassionate Care Center. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Lynch) Lyons, and had been a North Canton resident since 1967. Sally was a 1955 graduate of East Canton High School where she was the Homecoming Queen in 1954. She was a teller at Canton National Bank from 1955-1965, and later was a cook at Hoover High School, and became a big Hoover football fan. She and Larry really enjoyed trips to Atwood Lake and Myrtle Beach with their children when they were younger, and greatly enjoyed being Grandma in her later years. Sally was an avid 500 Rum card player, and really enjoyed her high school lunch group and her Bachtel St. dinner group. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Larry L. Gardner, on Oct. 27, 2010. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lorrie and Erik Ardelean and their daughter, Madison, and two sons, Randy Gardner and his children, Kayla and Kasey, and Rob Gardner and Julie Haren, all of Canton; one sister, June Brogden, of Canton; a sister-in-law and her husband, Dora Lee and Maurice Huntsberger, of Dalton; and four nieces and 2 nephews. A Celebration in Sally's honor will take place on Thursday, April 23, 2015, with a casual dress open house from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Skyland Pines Banquet Center. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Richard Cooper, Aultman Woodlawn Nurses and staff, especially her favorite Nurse, Rae, and Dr. Steven Grossman and all the staff of Aultman Compassionate Care, for the love and care they gave to Sally.
