Obituary

Ruth J. Stewart, Age 88, of Canton, passed away Monday morning in St. Josephs Care Center where she had resided almost four years. She was born in Winterset, OH, near Cambridge, a daughter of the late Frank and Pearl Berstler Daugherty, and had been a Canton resident most of her life. Ruth was a 1939 graduate of Madison High School. She was a former employee of The Timken Co., and also worked at O'Neil's in the 30th St. Plaza. Ruth was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, James B. Stewart, on March 18, 1991. Survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Susan Stewart, of Canton, Pam Paratore and William "Bud" Hanlin, of East Canton, and Nancy and John Reft, of Aliquippa, PA; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Mark Paratore and his children, Elizabeth and Brandan, Angela Harhager and her husband, Ed, and their sons, Eddie and Cole, and daughter, Cassandra, Melissa Krawczynski and her husband, John, and Mary and Daniel Reft; one sister, Gale Mehollin, of Canton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted Friday at 12 Noon in the Activity Center of St. Joseph Care Center with Rev. Raymond L. Tucker officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Stewart's memory may be made to either St. Josephs Care Center, Aultman Canton Center, or Simpson United Methodist Church.
