Ruth Ruff McGill

Age 93, of Canton, passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2021.  She was born March 23, 1928 in Macfarlan, WV, a daughter of the late Okey and Ethel (Wilson) Sees, and had been a Canton resident since 1962.  Ruth was a 1946 graduate of Massillon Washington High School.  She had been a hairdresser since 1947 and owned three beauty salons in Massillon.  Ruth had been a member of Market Avenue Church of Christ in Canton and is now a member of Northwest Church of Christ, and also had been a member of the Massillon Church of Christ, where she taught Bible School 18 years and worked in the Church Camp seven years.  She also had been a member of the Stepping Stones of Ohio Valley University, and after retirement volunteered for the Red Cross Sewing Ladies 16 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Dean Ruff, on Sept. 12, 1981, and Robert E. McGill, on Nov. 18, 1996, a brother, Marion Sees, and a step-daughter, Denise Sautters.  Ruth is survived by two sisters, Olive Moser and Charlotte (Alfred) Rohr; five step-children, Debra Bradley, Lisa Reusser, Robert K. McGill, Jerry McGill, and Dr. James McGill; seven step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Lance Lindenberger officiating.  Friends may call Monday 10-11 a.m. before the service.  Interment will be in Brookfield Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
