Ruby M. Johnson Age 89, of Massillon, passed away Thursday evening in the Laurels of Massillon, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ruby had a strong faith and loved our Lord, and never spoke an unkind word. She was born on April 14, 1921 in Mineral City, OH, a daughter of the late Robert and Ola Dieringer Myers, had resided in Canton 31 years, and the last four years in Massillon. She was a 1939 graduate of Bolivar High School. Ruby was a faithful member of the Church of The Nazarene for over 60 years. Preceded in death by a brother and sister, Russell Myers and Ellen Ewing. Survived by her husband, Howard E. Johnson, with whom she celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary on Feb. 2nd; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Lucretia Johnson, of Massillon, and Wayne and Jennifer Johnson, of Canton; one sister, Evelyn Harvey, of Bolivar; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Wayne Cummings and Pastor John Stallings officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville. Friends may call Monday 12-2 p.m. before the service. Ruby was a true woman of the Lord and her loving smile will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
