Ruby M. Johnson
Age 89, of Massillon, passed away Thursday evening in the Laurels of Massillon, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ruby had a strong faith and loved our Lord, and never spoke an unkind word. She was born on April 14, 1921 in Mineral City, OH, a daughter of the late Robert and Ola Dieringer Myers, had resided in Canton 31 years, and the last four years in Massillon. She was a 1939 graduate of Bolivar High School. Ruby was a faithful member of the Church of The Nazarene for over 60 years. Preceded in death by a brother and sister, Russell Myers and Ellen Ewing. Survived by her husband, Howard E. Johnson, with whom she celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary on Feb. 2nd; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Lucretia Johnson, of Massillon, and Wayne and Jennifer Johnson, of Canton; one sister, Evelyn Harvey, of Bolivar; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Wayne Cummings and Pastor John Stallings officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville. Friends may call Monday 12-2 p.m. before the service. Ruby was a true woman of the Lord and her loving smile will be remembered and missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank everyone at the Laurels of Massillon for the kindness and great care they gave to Ruby.
