Rosina (Mamma Rosa) Roberto Carbone,
born February 16, 1924 passed away on December 13, 2015 at the age of 91. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Born in Montella, Italy where she married Salvatore Carbone and then came to America in 1954 with four (one on the way) of her nine children to help her father Angelo Roberto make cheese at Roberto Cheese factory in East Canton. The family later moved to Canton and she was a long time resident of Canton, Ohio until 2011 when she moved to California to live with her daughters Toni Carbone Gartner and Michele Carbone. Rosa was proceeded in death by her husband, Salvatore, her three children Anthony, Antoniette (Toni), and Angelo and her grandson Luca Baxter. Mamma Rosa leaves behind a half-sister Anita and half-brother Angelo, six children—Maria Baxter, husband Gerry, Luca Carbone, Angela Cetorelli, husband Chef John, Michele Carbone, husband Keith Davison, Mario M. Carbone, Salvatore Carbone, wife Mary Ann and a wonderful son-in-law Klaus (Nick) Gartner. She also leaves behind several grandchildren—Michael and wife Kim, Gerald and wife Misty, Johnnie, Nicholas and wife Dion, Robert, Antoniette, Michella, Marisa, Antonia, and Anna, Gina, Heather, and Christina—and several great grandchildren—Corbin, Jackie, Samantha, Gage—Angelo, Reia, Sofia, Little Luca Rosa, Marlee, and Nicholas. Finally, she worked at Brookside Country Club for over 43 years as a cook then Sous Chef and retired at the ripe old age of 84 years old. No one could cook food like Mamma Rosa. Special acknowledgement to her daughter, our sister Michele, who was devoted to her mom and did an amazing job of caring for her after the loss of our sister Toni for almost four years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Mon. at 1 p.m.in The Basilica of St. John the Baptist Church with the Very Reverend Ronald M. Klingler as Celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
