Ronald I. Siber
Of Canton, passed away Wed. morning on his 84th birthday. He was born in Canton, a son of the late Samuel and Emily Mathys Siber, and was a life resident. Ron was a 1944 graduate of McKinley High School and then joined the Merchant Marines and served our country during World War II. He retired in 1988 from Teledyne Monarch in Hartville, after 22 years service, where he was a boiler operator. Ron was a member of First Christian Church and the McKinley Eagles. He was an avid dancer, and he and his wife, Toni, danced every week at the Polish Club, Rolando's, and the McKinley Eagles. He also enjoyed traveling and playing gin rummy. Preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years, Sadie Siber, on April 25, 1997, and sisters and brothers, Esther, Clara, Betty, Eileen, Calvin, Gene, Glen, Kenmore, and Norman Dale, and a son-in-law, Anthony "Tiger" Pastore, Jr. Survived by his wife, Toni (Barnby) Siber, whom he married in Oct. 2000; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sara and Don Armen, of North Canton, Christine and Darrell Domer, of Uniontown, and Paula Pastore, of North Canton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Randy and Teri Siber, of Columbia, SC, and Mark and Corinne Siber, of Canton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Courtney (Mike) Schnee and their children, Noah, Gus, and Anina, Crystal (Nate) Tausch and their daughter, Alexis, Shane (Courtney) Siber, Hilary and Maia Siber, and Anthony Pastore III; his sister, Nadine Heise, of Annapolis, MD; four sisters-in-law, Joanne Siber, of Westminster, CA, Iris Ann Albert Henderson, of Hartselle, AL, Dorothy Russo, of Canton, and Catherine (Roger) Cochran, of Wellington, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Minister Jeffrey Bullock officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 5-8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour before the service.
