ROGER B. ANDERSON, SR.,
Age 64, of Mineral City, passed away Wed. evening in Mercy Medical Center. Born in Cameron, WV, a son of the late Irvin and Helen Wendt Anderson, he had been a resident of Mineral City for 38 years. Roger retired from Republic Steel after 24 years service as a Foreman. Following retirement he worked for JMW Trucking. He served with the US Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the VFW and the Sandy Valley Eagles #3228. Preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl, and two brothers and one sister. Survived by his wife, Janice Anderson, with whom he celebrated their 42nd Wedding Anniversary on June 16th; one son, Roger Anderson, Jr., of Mineral City, and his special friend, Angie Davis; one step-daughter and her husband, Carol and Jeff Knepper, of Mineral City; two sisters, Ethel Barnhart, of West Farmington, OH, and Irma Coffer, of Champion, OH; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Hubert and Barbara Anderson, of Carrollton, and James Anderson, of Canton; and one granddaughter, Kira Knepper. Services will be conducted Mon., at 2 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Peggy Garner officiating. Interment in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Friends may call one hour before the service, from 1 to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help defray expenses.
