ROBERT CARL SAURER, Age 79, of Canton, passed away Sat. morning in Aultman Hospital. Born in Millersburg, a son of the late Otto "Bill" and Blanche Baldner Saurer. Bob was a 1949 graduate of Waynesburg High School and lived in Waynesburg until 1984, when he moved to Canton. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and retired from Superior Dairy after 31 years service as a retail driver, and then worked for Skipco Financial Adjusters for 16 years. Bob was a member of Superior Dairy retirees, Trinity Lodge #710 F. & A.M., American Legion Post #44, Massillon V.F.W. Post #3124, and Massillon Moose Lodge #481. Survived by his loving wife, Mary Wells Saurer; loving daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Tony Rivera, of Waynesburg; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert and Cyndi Saurer, of Bessemer, AL, and Aaron Saurer and his fiance, Wendy Schmidt, of Mapleton; one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Judy Saurer, of Erie, PA and Cary, NC; loving step children, Jean and Wayne Ayers, of Navarre, Linda Wells and Chuck Stoner, of Canton, and Russ and Kay Wells, of Canton; nine grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, and eleven step great grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Evelyn Saurer Longo. According to his wishes, following cremation a Memorial Service will be held Wed. at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Waynesburg with Rev. Joel Soza officiating.
