Robert J. Nardo

Age 68, of Carrollton, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014, in Mercy Medical Center.  He was born in Nottingham, England, a son of the late Joseph and Barbara (Mathis) Nardo, resided in Carrollton two years, previously Waynesburg and Malvern all his life.  Bob was a 1964 graduate of Malvern High School, and retired from Firehouse Grill & Pub in Malvern where he was a chef.  He was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and was a member of Malvern American Legion Post #375.  Bob served in the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam War.  Preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne Nardo, on Jan. 8, 1993, and a sister, Rita Visnick.  Survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Angela and Mike Hiner, of Scio, Elaina and Richard Berry, of Malvern, and Anna Nardo, of Minerva; one son, Antonio Nardo, of Minerva; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Art Gross, of Malvern, Barbara and Richard Kolm, of North Canton, Toni and Doyle Lewis, of Mineral City, Gina and Mike Blymiller and Jodi and Dave Gascon, all of Minerva.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wed. at 11 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern with Fr. Victor Cinson as Celebrant.  Following cremation interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery with Military Honors.  There are no calling hours.  The Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob's memory may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, PO Box 275, Minerva, OH 44657.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
