Obituary

Robert L. Minor Age 62, of Canton, passed away Sat. evening, May 19, 2012, in Canterbury Villa of Alliance. He was born in Coshocton, OH, a son of the late Donald and Marilyn (Scott) Minor, and had been a resident of the Canton area most of his life. Bob was a 1968 graduate of Glenwood High School. He retired in 2005 from The Timken Co., after 33 years service, where he was a steelworker and ran an overhead crane. Bob was a member of Golden Lodge Local #1123 United Steelworkers of America, AFL-CIO, and served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. Preceded in death by a brother and sister, Steven Minor and Elaine Marion, and his uncle, Jack Minor. Survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Michael Murphy, of Salem; his son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Valerie Minor, of Navarre; five grandchildren, Grant and Quentin Minor, Payton and Mikaylynn Murphy, and Jordan Whitmer. Services will be held Wed. at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Doak officiating. Interment in Westview Cemetery in Carrollton with full Military Honors by Carrollton American Legion Post#428 and Carrollton VFW Post #3301. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m.at the funeral home.
