Robert N. May Age 94, of Magnolia, passed away Friday evening in Aultman Hospital. He was born in Sandyville, a son of the late Odo J. and Lenora (Crilley) May, and was a life resident of this area. Bob was a 1937 graduate of East Sparta High School, and retired in 1982 from Republic Engineered Steel, after over 40 years service, where he was a dispatcher. He was a member of East Sparta United Methodist Church and the Mineral City Historical Society. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ruth M. May, on Feb. 13, 2009, a son, Odo K. May, two sisters and a brother, Idabel Bower, Mary Bean, and James May. Survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Thomas Hert, of Canton, Elizabeth and Joseph Mossa, of Swanton, OH, Cathy Bell, of Bolivar, and Nelda (Sisler) and James Buck, of Delaware, OH; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Kathleen May, of East Sparta, and Jay and Maureen May, of Canton; 10 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 11 step-great-grandchildren. Services will be held Wed. at 1 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Peggy Garner officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville.
