Robert E. Davis
Age 86, of Canton, passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015. He was born Feb. 18, 1929, in Tiffin, OH, a son of the late Edwin and Helen (Clauser) Davis. Bob first retired from The Appraisal Co., where he appraised damage to automobiles, and later from City Body Shop where he was Body Shop manager. He was self-taught and highly skilled in all home repairs and improvements, eager to help everyone with anything. Bob served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict, where he was a Sgt. in the Infantry, and also served in the U. S. Navy Reserves and the U. S. Army Reserves. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother, Dorothy Neidlinger and Charles Davis. He was the loving husband of Julia A. (Parretta) Davis, with whom he celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary on Feb. 17th; the devoted father of three daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Bill Hollin, Marsha and Bill Reynallt, and Linda and Bill Murray; proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, Jillian Marty and her children, Jordan and Andrew; Amy Reynallt, Jeff (Bonnie) Reynallt, and their son, Dylan; Ashley Marshall and her daughter, Layla; Cole Murray, Morgan Murray, and Lucas (Samantha) Murray and their children, Luke and Elliana; two sisters, Violet Neidlinger, and Carrie (Ron) Craig; nieces and nephews and many friends. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Hough officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery with Full Military Honors by Canton American Legion Post #44. Friends may call Wed 6-8 p.m. and Thursday 10-11 a.m. before the service. The family extends their sincere gratitude to all those that loved and cared for Bob throughout the past couple years.
