Robert M. Common

Robert “Bob” M. Common, age 68, of Massillon passed away peacefully at home on October 31, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Alliance on July 30, 1958, son to the late Mark and Marcella Common. Bob was a graduate of Louisville High School class of 1977. He worked at Technibus Inc. for 45 years where he was a dedicated production planner. Bob was an avid runner and ran in many marathons throughout his life including the Boston Marathon in 2013. He was a Cleveland sports fan and loved spending time in his favorite place, Amish Country. Bob will always be remembered for his love of running and training others. He was very passionate in everything he did.

Bob is survived by his wife Lyn Common; his children Tim (Julia) Common, Chad (Cindy) Common, Tara Reid, Amber (Steven) Thompson, Jacob Common; step-daughters Ashley (Ken) Perrin, and Amy (Judd) Lutz; 23 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; and sisters Maryann (Dick) Graham, Cheryl (Bob) Huprich, Lisa (John) Koontz.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother Richard Common, and his previous wife Cindy.

A memorial service will be held at noon (12pm) on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Wells officiating. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to services beginning at 11:00 a.m. also in the funeral home. A private inurnment will be held at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
