Rita F. Cropper
Age 70, of Mineral City, passed away Wed. Nov. 30, 2011, at the home of her daughter Jackie. She was born July 9, 1941 in Dover, a daughter of the late Joseph and Marjorie (Shroyer) Crone, and was a life-long resident of Mineral City. Rita retired in 1999 from Nickles Bakery in Navarre where she worked 30 years. She spent her entire life embodying what it means to work hard and to value family above all else. Rita had a keen ability to call things as she saw them as well as a weakness for spoiling each and every one of her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, especially cruises to Hawaii and the Caribbean. She loved restoring furniture, baking and dominating a game of euchre. Preceded in death by one brother and five sisters, William Crone, Dorothy Abel, Florence Harding, Ruth Price, Pauline Souers, and Margie Carnahan. Rita leaves behind five children, four daughters and two sons-in-law, Patty and Jon Ickes, Sandy Wine, and Jackie Cropper, all of Canton, and Monica and Mike Palmer, of New Wilmington, PA; her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Jodi Adams, of Canton; the greatest joy in her life was her nine grandchildren, Shondell (Jeff) Bair, Renee and Scott Wine, Kesha and Kody Adams, Kearstin and Kyler Knecht, Aiden and Andrew Van Fossen; four great-grandchildren, Donovan Tristano, Devon and Alana Bair, and Brooklyn Adams; two sisters, Mary Reidl, of Dover, and Helen Naus, of North Canton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Sue Crone, of Minerva, and Mike and Phyllis Crone of Sandyville; and her good friend, Glenda Adams of Somerdale. A celebration of Rita's life will be held on Sat. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Peggy Garner officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville. Friends may call Friday 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family extends a huge thank you to the wonderful staff of Grace Hospice as well as the appreciation for Rita's special friend, Brenda McNutt, who made everything possible.
