Ricky Simmons

Age 64, of Malvern, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022.  He was born Dec. 6, 1958 in Canton, a son of the late Edward "Duke" Thompson and Cloretta (Simmons) Wright, and was raised by his grandmother, Irene Simmons, and had been a Malvern resident all his life.  Ricky was a 1978 graduate of Malvern High School.  He was a 32 years employee of the former Form-Tech Co. in Minerva, where he was a press operator, and a member of First Baptist Church in Malvern.

In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by a son, Jerome Simmons, on March 6, 2022, and a grandson, Remy. He is survived by his wife, Rose M. Simmons, two sons, Joseph (Nichole) Simmons, and Brad Simmons; one sister, Roxanne Kelly; eight granddaughters, Destany, Kayleigh, Laniah, Briley, Diem, Nina, Camilla, and Leni; five grandsons, Jobey, Luke, Bralyn, Jackson, and Zeke; and one great-grandson, Grayson.

Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia.  Friends may call Friday one hour before the service from 10-11 a.m.  Interment following the service will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, with a luncheon immediately following.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
