Obituary

Richard L. "Dick" Reed

Age 66, of Louisville, passed away suddenly Sat., August 9, 2014, in Aultman Hospital.  He was born in Canton, a son of Pauline (Herstine) Reed, of Waynesburg, and the late Harvey Reed, and had been a Louisville resident since 1985, previously Canton and Waynesburg.  Dick was a 1965 graduate of Sandy Valley High School.  He retired in July of 2012 from Wallace Forge where he was Quality Control Manager for 17 years, and ran a forging hammer for 30 years.  Following retirement he has worked for Grand Rental in Malvern.  He was a member of the Magnolia Golf League and the Nimishillen Township Ruritan Club, and served as a Board Member of Cross Eyed Missions.  He also enjoyed bowling for many years.  Surviving besides his mother is his wife, Annette M. (Stonemetz) Reed, with whom he would have celebrated their 26th Wedding Anniversary on Oct. 8th; his daughter, Stephanie Reed of the home, and her fiancé, Dale Lantzer III; his son and daughter-in-law, Rich and Missy Reed, Jr., and grandson, Ryan Reed, all of Perry Township; one sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Mike Barthel, of East Canton; one brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Diane Reed, of Waynesburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Matthew A. Diehl officiating.  Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery.  Friends may call Wed. 6-8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dick's memory may be made to Cross Eyed Missions, PO Box 688, Waynesburg, OH 44688.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
