Richard D. Cekansky

Age 82, of Canton, passed away Monday, June 22, 2020.  He was born Nov. 28, 1937 in Canton, a son of the late Bruno and Anne (Salla) Cekansky, and was a life resident.  Rich was a 1955 graduate of Lincoln High School, and was a retired self-employed painting and decorating contractor.  He was a member of the North Canton Eagles.  Rich had several friends who met every Friday at 3 p.m. at Meyers Landing for happy hour, and were known as the Bromance.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (Mehl) Cekansky, on July 14, 1998, and a son-in-law, Don Skotnicky, on May 4, 2017.  Rich is survived by Lenore McCoury, his faithful companion of twenty years, one daughter, Teri Skotnicky, one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Julie Cekansky, one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren, Samantha Leyh, and her sons, Jordan and Andrew.  Friends may call Sunday, July 5, 2020 from 2-4 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home.  There will be no service.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
