Randall G. Cox
Age 60, of Canton, passed away Monday morning in Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Newark, OH, a son of the late Glenn and Dixie (Elliott) Cox, and had been a Canton resident most of his life. Randy was a truck driver for Crete Carriers for five years, and also had driven for SARTA. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Cox. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and is survived by his wife, Cindy J. Cox, with whom he celebrated their 34th Wedding Anniversary on Sept. 9th; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Randi Ann and Bryan Nystrom, of Boynton Beach, FL, Vicki and Scott Schaffer, of Enterprise, AL, Angie Showalter, of Canton, Linda and Michael Harris, of New Philadelphia, and Glenda and Jeff Knerr, of Strasburg; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Bryan and Michele Smith, of Athens, AL, Chris and Lorie Smith, Chad and Marina Showalter, and Scott Showalter, all of Canton, and Rusty and Jennifer Cox, of Massillon; 30 grandchildren and two soon to be born great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Williams, of Canton; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Greg and Jeannie Cox, Steve and Patty Cox, and Tim Cox, all of Canton, Stan Cox, of Massillon. Services will be held Thursday at 12 Noon in Grace Fellowship with Pastor Keith Stephens officiating. Friends may call Thursday 10-12 Noon at the church before the service. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Mercy Hospice, and the staff on Eight Main at Mercy Medical Center for the love and care they gave to Randy.
