Ralph C. Lahmers Age 88, of East Sparta, passed away Wed. morning, June 13, 2012, in Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar. He was born in Dover, a son of the late Carl and Alverta (Lingler) Lahmers, and had been an East Sparta resident 57 years. Ralph retired in 1988 from the former Crondike Refractories in Zoar, after 25 years service, where he was a kiln fireman. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Preceded in death by a brother, Elden Lahmers. Survived by his wife, Mardell Lahmers, with whom he would have celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary, today, June 14th; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Linda Lahmers, of East Sparta; a grandson, Robert Lahmers, Jr. and Jessica Miller, and their son, Robert Lahmers III, of Alliance; two step-grandsons and three step-great-grandchildren, Michael Lewis and his children, Jessica and Adam, Nick Lewis and his daughter, Jenn; one sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Lloyd Swinderman, of New Philadelphia; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Lahmers, of Dover; one brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Sally Lahmers, of Dover. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover with pastor Dave Naus officiating. There will be no calling hours.
