Perry "Sawdust" Schoppelrey, Sr.
Age 77, of Sandyville, passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, in Aultman Woodlawn Compassionate Care. He was born in Akron, a son of the late Albert H. and Esther (Hall) Schoppelrey, and had been a resident of the Sandyville-Magnolia area most of his life. Perry was a 1953 graduate of Waynesburg High School. He retired in 1997 from Carpenter's Local #69 in Canton, and was employed by Stanley Miller Construction Co. Perry served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956-59. Preceded in death by a brother, Edward Schoppelrey. Survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Debortah Amstutz, of Canton, Janet and Jeff Davis, of New Philadelphia, and Susan Schoppelrey, of Pulaski, VA; one son and daughter-in-law, Albert P. and Karen Schoppelrey, Jr., of Magnolia; one sister and brother-in-law, Jenny and Errold Scott, of Bradenton, FL; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Richard and Ida Mae Schoppelrey, of Ravenna, and Arzella Schoppelrey, of Bradenton, FL; five grandchildren, Christine, Nathan, Kyle, Steven, and Kevin, and two great-grandchildren, Evan and Emma. According to Perry's wishes he has been cremated and there will be no calling hours or services. The Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
