Age 58, of East Sparta, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014, in her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Earl and Gladys (Totten) Leyda, and was a life resident of the Waynesburg /East Sparta area.  Pam was a 1974 graduate of Sandy Valley High School.  She was a former employee of Sandy Valley High School where she was a study hall monitor and very active with the Academic Booster Club, which she served as President, and also other activities.  She previously worked at The Hoover Company.  Pam was a member of East Sparta Christian Church, which she served as a Board Member for a number of years, and the Magnolia Historical Society, for whom she was instrumental in starting "Music in the Park" and the sale of apple dumplings.  She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, John "Tub" and Lawrence Leyda, and Patricia Newman.  Survived by her husband, Jonathan C. Sewell, with whom she would have celebrated their 36th Wedding Anniversary on Sept. 1st; one daughter, Abby Sewell, of Orrville; one son and daughter-in-law, Alden and Cassandra  Sewell, of Wooster, and two grandchildren Kiley and Ashlee Hummel; four sisters, Linda (Troy) Martindale, of Columbus, Dianne Scott, of Wooster, Beverly (Gary) Neuman, and Sue Fiddler, all of East Sparta; three brothers, David (Barb) Leyda, of Magnolia, Tom (Janice) Leyda, of Waynesburg, and Roger (Amy) Leyda, of Mansfield.  Friends may call Friday 5-8 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia.  A Memorial Service will be held Sat. at 11 a.m. in East Sparta Christian Church with Rev. Andrew Bailey officiating, with a luncheon to be held immediately following in the church fellowship hall.  According to her wishes, Pamela donated her body to NEOMED in Rootstown, so that she gave in death what she could not in life.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pamela's memory may be made to: Magnolia Historical Society, Attn: Janet Rogers, PO Box 276, Magnolia, OH 44643; Sandy Valley Academic Booster Club, 5130 State Route 183 NE, Magnolia, OH 44643; East Sparta Christian Church, PO Box 476, East Sparta, OH 44626; or Aultman Hospice, 2821 Woodlawn Ave. NW, Canton, OH  44708.
