IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ned I.
Lewton
October 28, 1941 – October 29, 2014
NED I. LEWTON,
Age 73, of East Sparta, passed away Oct. 29, 2014. Born in Canton, a son of the late Kenneth and Mary Jane (Baum) Lewton, he was raised in Waynesburg and had lived in East Sparta the last nine years. After graduating from Sandy Valley High School in 1959, Ned served with the U.S. Navy and spent time as a ranch manager in Mexico. He retired from A.E.P. in 2000 after 38 years service as a lineman, enjoyed his Harley and Harley trike and was a member of A.B.A.T.E. Motorcycle Club. Ned was quite the horseman, enjoying many years driving and showing ponies at fairs and parades. He could talk to anyone and regaled listeners with stories of his adventures and exploits. Ned was larger than life, the first to help a friend and excelled at spoiling his grandchildren. Preceded in death by his dear Aunt Elizabeth Geers. Survived by his longtime girlfriend, Marty Vanoster; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennie and Tim Strubel, of Magnolia, and Bonnie and Andrew Rejon, of Fairlawn, OH; one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Janet Lewton, of Sandyville; one brother, Lee Lewton, of Waynesburg; 12 grandchildren, Michael Lewton, Shiela and Emily Markey, Jared and Wyatt Strubel, Rosa van der Loo; Angela and Nina Rejon, Lydia, Weston, Jonathon, and Jacob Vanoster; and one great granddaughter, Olivia van der Loo. Ned lived a vivacious life, he was a loving father, doting grandfather and devoted companion; he left this world in comfort surrounded by those he loved and who loved him. He had a profound way of seeing the world, and his wit and wisdom will be greatly missed. According to his wishes, following cremation there will be a Celebration of his Life on Sat. Nov. 15, 2014 from 1-3p.m. in the Sandy Valley Eagles in Sandyville. The Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
