Obituary

NEAL A. REED, Age 80, of Magnolia, passed away Tues. evening in his residence. Born in Malvern, a son of the late Arthur and Blanch Perdue Reed, he had been a life resident of the Magnolia area. Neal was a 1950 graduate of Waynesburg High School and retired in 1995 from Harrison Paint after over 30 years service. He was a member of the Sandy Valley American Legion Post #432, the V.F.W., and the Carroll Co. Mounted Deputies from 1973-1980. Neal was particularly proud of his service with the U.S. Navy, which he spent aboard the U.S.S. Kearsarge during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Reed, with whom he celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary on Jan. 14th; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Bill Currie, of Waynesburg; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Jean Reed, of VA, and Jim and Beckie Reed, of Canton; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chuck and Carolyn Frederick, of FL; and many very special nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held Sun. at 12:30 p.m. in the Waynesburg Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joel Soza officiating. Friends may call Sun., one hour before the service, from 11:30-12:30.
