Narcissa E. "Narcy" Guenzi
Age 90, of Canton, passed away Thursday morning in Sterling House of Canton. She was born in Grandview, OH, a daughter of the late Hannibal and Helen Kollman Collins, and had been a Canton resident most of her life. Narcy was a 1937 graduate of New Matamoras High School and attended Youngstown State University. She had worked for Commercial Credit in Youngstown. Narcy was a longtime member of the former Christ United Methodist Church in Canton. Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Louis E. Guenzi, on April 17, 1988, a son, Gary A. Guenzi, on Sept. 10, 2008, and a brother, Francis "Bud" Collins. Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Barbara Guenzi, of Carolina Shores, NC; a daughter-in-law, Melinda Guenzi, of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Carole Barnes, of Henrico, VA; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Nancy Conley officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call one hour before the service on Monday from 1-2 p.m. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Sterling House of Canton and Altercare of Nobles Pond for the wonderful care and love they gave to Narcy during her stay there. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Narcy's memory may be made to Harbor Light Hospice, 25 South Main St., Suite 7, Munroe Falls, OH 44262.
