Mildred Furney Betz Age 98, of Canton, passed away Wed. evening in Country Lawn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing Care. She was born in Cumberland, MD, a daughter of the late John and Maria McDaniel Hardman, and had been a Canton resident most of her life. Mildred was a Charter Member of the Canton Baptist Temple. Preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur W. Furney, Sr., on Nov. 1, 1975, and Milton J. Betz, on July 13, 1987, and two brothers and four sisters. Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Donna Furney, Jr., of Canton; her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and David Baillie, of Morristown, TN; four grandchildren, Gail Kreichelt and her husband, Ken, Dale Furney and his wife, Karen, David Baillie and his wife, Jenny, and Pami Ballington; also nine great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. David Harmon and her grandson, Dr. David Baillie, officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery in Waynesburg.
