Michael A. Devine Age 85, of East Sparta, passed away Friday evening in his home. He was born in East Sparta, a son of the late Martin and Orlena Herstine Devine, and was a life resident. Mike was a 1941 graduate of East Sparta High School. He retired Jan. 1, 1984 from the East Ohio Gas Co., after 37 years service, where he was a technician. Mike was a member of East Sparta United Methodist Church and Isaac L. Kinney American Legion Post #244. Preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mary A. Devine, on Feb. 25, 2008, and six brothers and sisters, Charles, Martin, Luther, Robert, and Orlena Devine, and Gwenda Orlando. Survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Ron Prosperi, of Magnolia; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Linda Devine, of Dover, and Mark Devine, of East Sparta; one sister, Mary Young, of East Sparta; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Duane and Alice Devine, of Magnolia, and Joseph and Mary Devine, of East Sparta; a sister-in-law, Geneva Devine, of Magnolia; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery.
