Max Miller
Age 77, of Magnolia, passed away suddenly Sat., April 25, 2015, in his home. He was born April 30, 1937 in Union County, GA, a son of the late Rubin and Hazel (Plott) Miller, came to Ohio in 1955 and resided in the Magnolia area since 1964. Max was the retired owner/operator of Interstate Fire & Security, and previously was a Teamster truck driver for 27 years with Commercial Motor Freight. He was a member of Howenstine Christian Church, the Magnolia Historical Society, and bowled in the Thursday Night Men's League at East Sparta Recreation for many years. Max was one of the leaders in restoring Isaac Miller Inn on the square of Magnolia for Taggerts Ice Cream. He was honored as Citizen of The Year in 2010 during Canal Days. Max proudly served in the U. S. Army. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Jack Miller, L. C. Miller, and Gene Miller, and Barbara (Nedrow) Downes. Survived by his wife, Marge Miller, with whom he celebrated their 53rd Wedding Anniversary on Sept. 30, 2014; one daughter and son-in-law, Jenefer and Mike Hinson, of Orangeburg, SC; four sons and daughters-in-law, Greg Miller, of Magnolia, Chris and Margie Miller, of Waynesburg, Duglus Miller, of Magnolia, and Joseph and Terron Miller, of Summerville, SC; one brother and sister-in-in-law, Bill and Norma Miller, of Dellroy; and four grandchildren, Shelby and Michaela Bishop, and Gabriel and Hazel Miller; and Max's little buddy, Rex. Services will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon funeral home in Magnolia with Chris Davis, Minister, officiating. Friends may call Thursday 5-7 p.m. before the service. Military Honors will be held immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Max's memory may be made to Howenstine Christian Church or the Magnolia Historiacal Society.
