Mauro A. “Mike” Spitale,
Age 91, of Louisville, passed away Tues., Aug. 25, 2026. He was born Apr. 25, 1935, in Canton, a son of the late Mauro and Concetta (Randazzo) Spitale. Mauro was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and retired as a Machinist from the Ford Motor Co.
Preceded in death by his wife, Sally Spitale, one sister, Sister Theresa Spitale; and six brothers, Coni, Sam, Joe, Jim, Angelo, and Fr. John Spitale. Survived by two daughters, Anita DeHoff, and Rita (Ron) Mayle; one son, Mike (Lori) Spitale; five grandchildren, Stacey (Brent) DeHoff-Smith, Vanessa (Michael) Patrick, Thomas Mayle, Elisa Spitale and Natalie Spitale; one great granddaughter, Rory Smith; sister-in-law Nancy (Dave) Bailey, brother-in-Law Gene (Sony) Sisterhen, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the entire staff working for The Inn at Belden Village and Southern Care Hospice. Their patience, compassion and unwavering support mean more than words can fully express.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11am in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30am on Monday in Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home.
