Obituary

MATILDA SPADAFORA, Age 84, of Magnolia, passed away Sun. morning in the Canton Christian Home. Matilda was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Filomena Della Prece Susi. A life long resident of Magnolia, Matilda graduated in 1943 from Magnolia High School where she was Valedictorian of her class. On March 1, 1986, she retired as Treasurer of Sandy Valley Local Schools after 23 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Morges, the Magnolia Historical Society, and an official of the Board of Elections. Preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Spadafora, on Aug. 24, 2005, and a sister, Mary Cora. Matilda was the beloved mother of four children: R. David and Dora Spadafora, of San Antonio, TX, Patricia Hull and her son-in-law, Ron, of St. Louis, MO, Daniel R. and Loretta Spadafora, of Massillon, and Jeffrey L. and Xiomara Spadafora, of Jacksonville, FL; She was also a proud grandmother: Christina Spadafora, Allison R. Hull, Autumn Spadafora, and Max and Reilly Spadafora; she was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Gianna and Geremiah (Christina) and Drake (Autumn). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wed. at 2 p.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Morges with Fr. Thomas Marut as Celebrant. She will be buried in Sandy Valley Cemetery in Waynesburg.
