Maryedith Fleenor
Age 86, of Canton, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015, in The Pines. She was born in Erie, PA, a daughter of the late Franz and Virginia (Lloyd) Abbott, and had been a Canton resident over 60 years. She was a 1946 graduate of Stow High School and a 1950 graduate of Baldwin Wallace College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Maryedith was retired from Canton City Schools where she was a tutor for disability students in their homes. She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, where she served as an Elder and taught a Sunday school class. She also was a member of the Stark County, State of Ohio, and National Retired Teacher's Associations, the Canton Woman's Club, the College Club, and volunteered at the McKinley Museum. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William H. Fleenor, on May 28, 1996. Survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Henry Jaimes, of Miami, FL, Carol and Lars Boeryd, of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, and Linda and William Carson, of Ringgold, GA. She was the loving grandmother of six, Brian (Claudia) Jaimes, Stephanie Jaimes, Christina Boeryd, Erik Boeryd, Kim Carson, and Kelly Carson; and one brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Richard and Alda Abbott, of Baton Rouge, LA. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Elden Trubee officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour before the service. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of The Pines, Comfort Keeper Julie, and Deacon Joe Orin of the Deacon Ministry, for the love and care they gave to Maryedith. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Maryedith's memory may be made to the Deacon Ministry of Christ Presbyterian Church, 530 W. Tusc. St., Canton, OH 44702.
