Mary Ann Wilson

Age 47, of Sandyville, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015, in Mercy Medical Center.  She was born in Cleveland, OH, the only daughter of the late James and Connie (Corbett) Wilson, and was a lifelong resident of Sandyville and Canton.  Mary Ann was a 1985 graduate of Sandy Valley High School and also graduated in 1997 from the University of Akron with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work.  She was a member of Magnolia United Methodist Church.  Mary Ann was a Licensed Social Worker with Stark County Job & Family Services as an investigator in the child sex abuse unit.  Previously, she had worked for Tuscarawas County Job & Family Services.  Mary Ann had received numerous Community Service Awards from the Stark County Prosecutors Office for her work on the behalf of children.  Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Chester and Mary Corbett, and Richard and Evelyn Wilson.  She is survived by her daughter, Leah Wilson, a nursing student at Kent State University, as well as her aunt and uncle, Claudia and Mike Rogers, and numerous other relatives. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 1 p.m. in Magnolia United Methodist Church 999 Canal St., Magnolia, OH 44643.  The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall during a luncheon following the service.  Contributions in Mary Ann's memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Ohio Buckeye Chapter, 6155 Rockside Rd., Suite 202, Independence, OH 44131.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com .
