Mary C. "Molly" Raley Age 72, of Chicago, passed away early Sunday, August 5, 2012, at her sister and brother-in-law's home in Canton, after a courageous seven year battle against cancer. Molly was born in Canton on September 15, 1939, a daughter of the late Donald and Helen (Reardon) Raley. She attended Saint Joseph's grade school and was a 1957 graduate of Lincoln High School, and a 1966 graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Molly was a teacher with Canton City Schools for 13 years at Cedar, Mason and Wells Elementary Schools, and was the Coordinator for the Elementary Career Development Program for four years. After Canton City Schools, she taught for a year as an exchange teacher in Cali, Colombia. In the 1980's, Molly began a career in Chicago in the fields of Information Technology and Telecommunications. She worked for FMC Corporation as an Administrative Coordinator, and VoiceCom Systems as an Account Administrator, and she retired from Webley Corporation as an Account Executive. In addition to her parents, Molly was preceded in death by her brother, David Raley, her sister, Helen Ann Raley, and her step-mother, Edythe F. Raley. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Gertrude and Carl Slackford, of Canton; her nieces, Amy (Jim) Pukys, and their daughter, Kasey, of Canton, and Jennie (Pat) George, and their children, Emma and Ryan, of Massillon. Molly was a loving sister and aunt, who also cherished her many close friends in Canton and Chicago, and her "honorary granddaughter", Lola. Services will be held Wed. at 1:30 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Wendy Bausman Gray officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Wed. 12-1:30 p.m. before the service.
