Obituary

MARY J. GECKLER, Age 88, of Magnolia, passed away Wed. evening in her residence. Born in Mineral City, a daughter of the late William and Martha (Judge) Zurfley, she had been a life resident of the East Sparta and Mineral City area. She had worked as a sorter at the U.S. Ceramic Tile Co. Preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Geckler, on Feb. 7, 2002, and three brothers, Bill, Richard, and Paul Zurfley. Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Michelle and Pastor Mark Gross, of New Philadelphia, and Emma Geckler, of Magnolia; one grandson, Jordan Gross; one sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and Richard Thompson, of Navarre; one brother and sister-in-law, Les and Jean Zurfley, of Bolivar; two sisters-in-law, Sarah Mathey, of Dover, and Pat Geckler, of Canton; one brother-in-law, Joe Geckler, of East Sparta; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Mon. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with her son-in-law, Pastor Mark Gross and Chaplain Duane Quesenberry officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Sun. 2-4 p.m. in the funeral home.
