Mary Margaret Fritchley
Age 94, of North Canton, passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 24, 2012, in Chapel Hill Retirement Community. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Robert E. and Victoria (Hasler) Lane, and was a life resident of this area. Mary Margaret was a 1935 graduate of McKinley High School and attended Kent State University. She retired from Stern & Manns where she worked in the Children's Dept. Mary Margaret was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, and was active in Women's Circles and the Adult Sunday School Class. She was a member and Past President of the Canton Women's Club and a member of Canton Junior Sorosis. Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth E. Fritchley, on Aug. 3, 1995, a brother, Robert E. Lane, and a son-in-law, John T. Elmes. Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Marylane Elmes, of Centreville, MD, and Suzanne F. Kiewit, PhD. and Rev. David S. Kiewit, of Tallmadge, OH; one son, Kenneth E. Fritchley II, of Canton; one grandson and one great-grandson, John T. (Deborah) Elmes II and their son, John T. Elmes III, of Centreville, MD; one sister, Jessie Kaufholz, of Canton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Sat. at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen A. Gifford officiating. Interment in Baxter's Ridge Cemetery.
