MARY F. DEPALMO,

Age 100, of Canton, passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, in her residence.  Born in Alliance, a daughter of the late Stephen and Frances (Cholley) Hester, she had been a Canton resident since 1960.  Mary was a loving and giving person who opened her heart and doors to people who needed a home.  She was a trailblazer in starting her own business, Stark Information Services, when women were not entrepreneurs. Mary attended St. Michael's Catholic Church, loved reading and being near the water and achieved her greatest goal in living to be 100 years old.  Preceded in death by her husband, Jerry DePalmo, her son, Jerry Lynn DePalmo, two sisters, Rose Sharp and Cecilia Gill, and her nephew, Richard Sharp.  Survived by two daughters, Micaela DePalmo, of the home, and Peggy DePalmo, of Broadview Heights; loving niece, Fran Sharp, of Akron; three grandsons, Michael (Susan) DePalmo, and loving great granddaughter Cierra, Jerry DePalmo, all of Waynesburg, and Justin (Candys) Rock and their daughters, Jasmine and Chelsea, of East Sparta; great grandson, Nicholas DePalmo, of Waynesburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.  We would like to thank Crossroads Hospice for the excellent care and compassion provided to the family; and we especially appreciate the special care given by Melodye Moneypenny.  A Memorial Mass will be held Fri. at 11 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr.
