Mary Del Corso

Mary DelCorso passed away peacefully at Hennis Centre of Bolivar on July 25th, 2026 at 94.  She was born in Malvern, Ohio on January 11, 1932 after her parents Mary and Loreto Facchini immigrated from Sora, Italy in October 1931. Mary was their first child. Her sister Helen and 2 brothers, Anthony and Vincent followed. Sadly, Anthony passed away at the age of 16.

Mary was a proud graduate of Malvern High School, class of 1950. She loved growing up in Malvern and had many lifelong friends from there whom she loved dearly.  In 1954 she met Donald DelCorso. They married in 1956 and moved to ElPaso, Texas while Don served in the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss. Their daughter Carol was born there in 1958. The small family eventually moved back to Ohio where they would live most of their lives in Waynesburg. Janet, Don and Mary's second daughter, was born after they were back in 1960.

Mary was a homemaker all of her married life. She was a loving wife and mother, keeping a clean and tidy house while taking care of her family. After Don retired, Don and Mary would spend winters in Sarasota, Florida. They enjoyed their good friends in Ohio and in Florida. For many years they met friends in Myrtle Beach every September, staying in contact with them for decades.  Mary's favorite activities were shopping, eating out, and spending time with her family and best friends. She could spend hours and hours browsing in stores and looking through the many catalogs she received in the mail. She didn't just shop for herself, she loved giving gifts. Mary was a true giver by heart. She thoroughly loved spending time searching for the perfect gifts for others or hosting visitors by making sure they were fed and comfortable. She will always be remembered as being so kind and welcoming to anyone she met.  Mary also loved to laugh. Her laugh was contagious and made anyone around her enjoy laughing with her. She loved watching comedy shows over the years like The Carol Burnett Show, Everybody Loves Raymond and Saturday Night Live. She could always find the humor in just about anything

Survivors are her daughter Carol, her daughter Janet, her sister Helen Ianni, and her brother Vince Facchini, niece Alisa (Jon) Stewart, and nephew Anthony (Lisa) Facchini.  Besides her parents and brother Anthony, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Don in 2025, Don's parents Merina and Sam DelCorso, her sister-in-law Kathleen Facchini, and brother-in-law Ernest Ianni.

Mary has been in Hennis Care Centre of Bolivar and other long term care facilities since she had heart surgery in 2019. She has been so brave and courageous over these last 7 years. We believe God has saved a special place for her in Heaven.  The family truly appreciates all the care she has received at Hennis for almost 7 years. We were all blessed to have such a wonderful place for her to receive the care she needed. Also, we are thankful for Crossroads Hospice who helped tremendously in the final week making sure Mary was comfortable.
