Marvin E. Garmier
Age 73, of The Villages, FL, formerly Canton, passed away Sat., Feb. 28th, in his home. He was born in Garrettsville, OH, a son of the late Howard and Edna Nyhart Garmier, and had been a Canton resident most of his life until moving to Ft. Myers, FL in 1999 and then to The Villages recently. He was a 1955 graduate of Lehman High School. Marvin retired in 1999 from Republic Steel Corp., after 43 years service, where he was a metallurgist. He was a former member of the Akron Yacht Club. Marvin was an avid boater, hunter, and fisherman. He and his wife were campers with the Calvary Presbyterian Church Caravanners for many years. Survived by his wife, Susan (Todd) Garmier, with whom he celebrated their 39th Wedding Anniversary on Sept. 20, 2008; three daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Rick Lang, and Mary Frazee, all of Jackson Township, and Stacy and John Lake, of Louisville; one son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Patty Garmier, of Massillon; one sister, Audrey Rowles, of Canton; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Williams officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service on Monday.
