MARJORIE E. SLUTZ, Age 70, of East Sparta, passed away Sun. morning in Compassionate Care Center of Aultman Woodlawn. Born in Crookston, MN, a daughter of the late Daniel and Elaine Sorenson Myerchin, she had been a resident of East Sparta since 1959. Marjorie was a 1959 graduate of Denfeld High School in Duluth, MN and a 1962 graduate of the Aultman School of Nursing. She retired in 2003 from Aultman Hospital after 41 years service where she was a registered nurse and was a member of Light of Christ Church in Waynesburg. Preceded in death by her husband, Neal Slutz, on Feb. 20, 2010, and her stepfather, Peter Wuorio. Survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Don Bates, Jr., of Canton; three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Janet Slutz, of East Sparta, and Michael and Kathy Slutz and Wes and Megan Slutz, all of Bolivar; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Carol Myerchin, of Mansfield; eleven grandchildren, Tiffany, Don, Derek, Jared, Mike, Tucker, Alexis, Jack, Jacob, Zack, and Luke. Services will be conducted Thur. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with her brother Pastor Larry Myerchin and Pastor Nick Abraham officiating. Friends may call Wed. from 5-8 p.m. A private family burial will be held in Magnolia Cemetery.
