Marilyn Jean "Red" Locker aka "Mom"
Age 78, a resident of Hennis Care Center in Bolivar, passed away there Tuesday afternoon. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Velma Spencer Wright, and had been a Magnolia resident most of her life. Jean was a 1950 graduate of McKinley High School. She was a member of Magnolia United Methodist Church. Jean was well known as the "Apple Dumpling Lady", and dearly loved children and babysat many of them in Magnolia. Preceded in death by one sister and five brothers, Kaye Marzich, Ronnie, Marvin "Pee Wee", Lee, Paul, and Teddie Wright. Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Jody Boggs and Jerry Martin, of Wooster, and Holly and Randy Clark, of Canton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Tina Locker, of Magnolia, and Bill Locker, of Canton; four grandchildren and one great-grandson, Kacy and Kory Boggs, Brandon Clark and his wife, Krista, and their son, Arius, and soon to be born, Tarrin, and Marilyn Clark; many longtime friends, especially Jody Pariano. Services will be conducted Sat. at 1 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Steven M. Smith officiating. Interment in Magnolia Cemetery. Friends may call Sat. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. before the service. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the workers on the Homestead Unit of Hennis Care Centre for the love and care they gave to Jean and for treating her like extended family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean's memory may be made to Magnolia United Methodist Church, PO Box 417, Magnolia, OH 44643, or to David Locker, c/o Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home, so the family may do something special for the workers on the Homestead Unit.
