Marie Ruth Rozler of Dellroy, OH (formerly of Dalton, OH) died on Apr. 16, 2012 surrounded by her adoring family at Woodlawn Compassionate Care Center after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born May 10, 1942, on Mother's Day, in Depew, N.Y. to the late Fredrick and Ruth Layer. Marie married her high school sweetheart, Tony, on Oct. 19, 1963. They had four children and lived in Lancaster, NY, Elma, NY, Brunswick, OH, Dalton, OH and then retired to Atwood Lake. She was employed as a hair dresser at Sheer Professionals in Wooster, OH for 24 years, where she made many friends and had great memories. Then she worked at Aultman Woodlawn as a hairdresser for eight years and touched many lives. Her family participated in the Ulster Project in Massillon, OH for six years and she was co-chairman for two of those years. Marie enjoyed gardening, cleaning with murphy's oil soap, and listening to Jimmy Buffet with her family and friends. Marie was an excellent hostess who always made everyone feel comfortable and welcome in her home. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years Anthony (Tony) Rozler. She was the best Mom Ever to her four children, Mike (Kathleen) Rozler of Pickerington, OH, Paul (Lisa) Rozler of Dalton, OH, Kristin (Mark) Rupp of Monroeville, OH and Jenny (Bill) Baechle of Dalton, OH. She had 10 adoring grandchildren: Zak, Nick, and Rachel Rozler, Allisha and Karen Rozler, Maxwell and Lillian Baechle, Benjamin Rupp, and Kali and Delaney Mattoon. Also surviving are her two sisters, Peggy (Tom) Layer of Depew, N.Y, and Beth (John) Pineo of Nova Scotia. She will be deeply missed by all and if you knew her you were a better person for it! Marie is preceded in death by her parents: Fredrick and Ruth Layer and her best friend of 60 years, Peggy Robinson. A Memorial Service will be held Sat., Apr. 21, at 3 p.m. in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Massillon with Pastor Chip Belanga officiating. The family wishes to give sincere thanks to Dr. Schmotzer and the Nurses at Morningstar for their exceptional care and concern.
